RULES OF GOLF

The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the R&A Limited, the USGA and the Local Rules of John Hay Golf (JHG). All decisions made by the Tournament Committee shall be final

TOURNAMENT FORMAT & ELIGIBILITY

The Philippine Corporate Cup is a 36-Hole team event for AMATEUR GOLFERS ONLY with a four (4) to play, three (3) to count format, using Molave scoring system.

Open to the first 75 teams (300 players) to sign up.
Players (Men & Women) that have played for the Phil National Team from 2020 onwards are not allowed to participate in the tournament.
Open to players 18 yrs old and above.

TEAM CLASSIFICATION

Teams will be classified into Groups I, II, III, IV and Seniors I, II and III. All players in the Seniors Division must be 55 years old and above. Team Classifications will be based on the average of the three (3) lowest February 28, 2026 Handicap Indexes of the team. A player who does not have a handicap and is not listed on the official WHS or GHIN will not be allowed to play in the tournament. A team is limited to only one player below a 5.0 Index. The Committee reserves the right to reject or adjust the handicap index of a player before or during the tournament proper.

NOTE: If a player has more than one handicap index, it is the Team Captain’s responsibility to ensure the lowest handicap index is submitted. Teams/individuals may be disqualified for submitting false handicap indices (Rule 3.3b) and may be banned from future participation. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to classify or reclassify any team/s if it deems such change is for the good of the tournament.

DISQUALIFICATION / SUSPENSION

At any time, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to disqualify and/or suspend any team or individual from their participation in the 28th Philippine Corporate Cup. Reasons for disqualification or suspension may include the following:

Disrespect to the sponsors, tournament officials and staff.
Unbecoming conduct and gross violations of the Rules of Golf and serious breach of golf etiquette by any team member/s during the tournament.
Violation of the John Hay Golf House Rules.
Whether intentional or not, misrepresentation and/or playing under any other identity.
Disqualification of any player under the Rules of Golf in one round shall not be in effect for the second round unless the Tournament Committee determines otherwise.

PLAYER SUBTITUTION

Player substitutions are permitted only if the player to be removed from the team has not played in the tournament proper and the substitute player’s handicap index will not lower the team index.

TIES

Ties in the Team Competition shall be decided based on the following:

Total team score for the Final Round
Final round score of the 4th player
Final round Individual high score
Final round Individual 2nd high score

Ties in the Individual Competition shall be decided based on the following:

Final round 18-hole total
Final round last 9 holes total
Final round last 6 holes total
Final round last 3 holes total

PAIRINGS AND TEE TIMES

Pairings shall indicate team names only. Team Captains should provide the starters with the names of their players not less than 30 minutes before the scheduled tee time of his/her first player to tee off.

The Committee reserves the right to alter the pairings and tee times if it feels that such actions are in the best interest of the tournament. Players who refuse to follow such changes will be disqualified.

The Tournament Committee will not entertain any requests for team classifications, tee times, pairings or playing dates. Players who join the tournament should be ready to play on any day of the tournament dates and tee times assigned to them by the Committee.

LATE TO TEE

Players are advised to be at the teeing ground of their starting hole at least 10 minutes prior to their designated starting time. A player is considered late to tee if he or she is not on the tee and ready to play when called by the starter. The late player shall not be disqualified. The player will score zero (0) points on the hole(s) he or she fails to play and will be allowed to join his or her assigned group at the tee of the next hole to be played.

PACE OF PLAY

All players must always maintain the proper pace of play. If a group falls behind by having an open hole in front of them, they will be warned by a course marshal/rules official and asked to speed up play and keep pace with the group ahead.

Any player who takes more than forty (40) seconds to play a stroke, measured from the time it is his turn to play, shall be deemed to have incurred Bad Time and shall be subject to the following penalties:

1st Bad Time: Warning
2nd Bad Time: -1 point from total team points
3rd Bad Time: -2 points from total team points
4th Bad Time: Disqualification for the stipulated round. Player will be asked to discontinue play.

UNDUE DELAY

A player must play without undue delay and in accordance with the pace of play guidelines set forth by the Tournament Committee. Between completion of a hole and playing from the next teeing ground, the player must not unduly delay play. Penalty for breach of this Rule: Disqualification

PICK UP

A player who no longer has any chance to score a point after reaching a double bogey MUST pick up his or her ball and discontinue play of the hole. He or She shall score zero (0) point for that hole and MUST mark the scorecard with an “X” to indicate a pick-up.

Failure to do so shall be considered an automatic infraction. The penalty for this infraction is an automatic two (2) points deduction from the team’s total points for the stipulated round.

SCORECARDS AND MARKERS

The player is responsible for the correctness of the score recorded for each hole on his or her scorecard. If the player returns a score for any hole lower than actually taken, the player is DISQUALIFIED for the stipulated round. If the player returns a score for any hole higher than actually taken, the score as returned stands.

Each player shall be assigned by the Committee to be a Marker and record the scores of another player in the same flight. The Marker shall personally record the scores and NOT THE CADDIE. The Marker shall record the GROSS SCORE of the player and mark pick-ups with an “X”.

NOTE: The Committee may disqualify the Marker if it is shown that he/she deliberately violated this rule and/or deliberately performed actions so another player may be disqualified.
The Scorecard is deemed submitted when it is dropped in the Drop Box provided for.

TO AVOID PENALTIES, PLAYERS ARE REMINDED TO:

Retrieve their Scorecard from their Marker IMMEDIATELY after they leave the putting green of their last hole.

Check their scores for correctness and make sure that their GROSS SCORES are legibly indicated on the card. Holes picked-up must be marked with an “X”.
Settle any doubtful rulings with the Marker and/or the Committee before signing the scorecard. Any alteration on the Scorecard must be clarified with the Marker before it is submitted. Scores not legibly written will be interpreted by the Committee at its discretion.
Ensure that both player and maker have signed and attested the scorecard before the submission.
Return the scorecard to the Committee before any member of the flight following them submits their scorecard/s or within fifteen (15) minutes of holing out if they are the last flight of the morning or afternoon set. Penalty for breach of this Rule: Disqualification

TEAM CAPTAIN

Each team must designate one of the 4 players as the Official Team Captain. The Tournament Committee should be furnished with contact info for the Team Captain (mobile number, email, etc.) All official communication will be done thru the Team Captain. Non-playing captains or players from other teams may not serve as Official Team Captains.

RULES DECISION

Any rules-related matters shall be referred exclusively to the Rules Official and the Rules Committee.

CLOSE OF COMPETITION

The competition shall be deemed closed when the Championship Trophy of the division concerned has been awarded to the winner.

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the top three (3) teams per group with the highest point total after 36 holes. Trophies will also be given to the Individual Champion in each group.

HOLE-IN-ONE

In the event that there is more than one person makes a hole-in-one, the winners shall share the prize amongst themselves.

TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make alterations at its discretion – to adjust or forego – if it feels such actions are in the best interest of the tournament.

The Philippine Corporate Cup has long been recognized as one of the country’s premier corporate golf tournaments, bringing together distinguished corporate leaders and business partners for an exceptional showcase of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and competitive play. 1. The Entry fee includes accommodation for four (4) players at John Hay Hotels – Forest Wing and Garden Wing (formerly Forest Lodge and The Manor) from March 17 to 20, 2026 (four (4) nights: check-in on March 17, 2026, and check out on March 21, 2026).

Each player is entitled to one (1) practice round and two (2) tournament rounds, and will be included in the opening cocktail party, welcome dinner, fellowship dinner, awards night and tournament giveaways.

The entry fee for teams who prefer to arrange their own accommodation is Php 100,000.00 per team.
For Baguio-based corporations, the entry fee is Php 80,000.00 per team. Slots are limited and on a first-paid, firstserved basis. Practice round for local teams must be scheduled prior March 17, 2026.
Invited Teams must submit paid entries no later than February 25, 2026 at 5:00 pm to ensure participation in the tournament. Entries received after this deadline will be placed on the waitlist.
Teams must submit the proof of payment and completely filled out entry form and duly signed by the Team Captain at philippinecorporatecup@gmail.com
Team entries will not be confirmed unless the entry form, handicap index certification (WHS or GHIN) of all the team members and payments are submitted. Payments may be made through any of the following:

2. For check payment, checks shall be made payable to Golfplus Management Inc. Please indicate the team name and the branch where the payment was made upon submission of payment.
Team cancellations may be made until March 3, 2026, in which case the entry fee shall be fully refundable. Cancellations made after this date will be subject to a 50% charge of the entry fee. The entry fee shall be nonrefundable for cancellations after March 11, 2026.
Teams who do not attend the Awards Ceremony on March 20, 2026 may not be invited back for next year’s Corporate Cup.
This letter serves as an invitation only and does not guarantee participation. All entries are subject to the final approval of the Tournament Committee, which serves the right to reject any team or player’s entry at its discretion. The Committee’s decision shall be final and binding.
