TERMS OF COMPETITION

1. RULES OF GOLF

The 17th Davao Eaglemasters Golf Tournament shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as adopted by The R&A and the USGA, these Terms of Competition, the Local Rules approved by the Tournament Committee, and the Local Rules of APO Golf & Country Club, Rancho Palos Verdes Golf & Country Club, and South Pacific Golf & Country Club.

In case of conflict, these Terms of Competition and any written notice issued by the Tournament Committee shall prevail over a host club Local Rule. The Tournament Committee shall have the final authority to interpret and apply the Rules and these Terms of Competition.

2. TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

The Tournament Committee shall manage the competition and shall have full authority to:

Accept or reject entries and determine eligibility, classification, pairings, course assignments, tee times, and starting procedures.
Issue, amend, suspend, or withdraw Local Rules and operational instructions when necessary for fair and orderly play.
Decide all Rules questions, protests, scoring issues, disciplinary matters, and situations not expressly covered by these Terms of Competition.
Shorten, postpone, suspend, resume, relocate, or cancel any round when weather, course conditions, safety, or other circumstances require.

All Committee decisions are final.

3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The tournament is open to amateur golfers accepted by the Tournament Committee.
Each player must have a valid and verifiable Handicap Index under the National Golf Association of the Philippines World Handicap System (NGAP-WHS), or another handicap record accepted by the Committee.
A player may be entered in only one team and one division for the tournament.
Professional golfers, including touring and teaching professionals, are not eligible to compete.
The Committee may require proof of identity, age, amateur status, and Handicap Index at any time.
The Committee reserves the right to reject or withdraw any entry for eligibility, capacity, disciplinary, safety, or tournament-management reasons.

4. DIVISIONS, AGE GROUPS, AND TEE BOXES

A player’s division and tee box are determined by the team or individual category in which the player is officially entered. Age is determined as of September 17, 2026.

All divisions shall play all designated hole-in-one par-3 holes from the same Committee-marked teeing area for hole-in-one prize purposes. The Committee will identify those teeing areas before play.

5. TEAM CLASSIFICATION

The average of the three (3) lowest Handicap Indexes among the five registered team members shall determine the team’s classification.
Classification shall use each player’s July 15, 2026 NGAP-WHS Handicap Index or another index date specifically announced by the Committee.
Team Captains must submit verifiable proof of each player’s Handicap Index. Incorrect, unverifiable, manipulated, or falsified handicap information may result in reclassification, individual disqualification, or team disqualification.
A team whose average falls outside the published range may be placed in the next higher or otherwise appropriate division at the Committee’s discretion.
The Tournament Committee may adjust division boundaries before the start of play to maintain balanced and competitive fields.

6. TEAM COMPOSITION AND TEAM CAPTAIN

Regular, Seniors, and Super Seniors teams shall be composed of five (5) players. The best four (4) scores in each round shall count as the team score.
Ladies teams shall be composed of four (4) players, all of whose scores shall count, unless the Committee announces a different format at the Team Captains Meeting.
Each team must designate one Team Captain or authorized representative.
The Team Captain shall attend the Team Captains Meeting, verify player eligibility and classifications, inform the team of all rules and notices, and coordinate with the Tournament Secretariat.
A player who has started a tournament round may not be replaced. Any permitted replacement before the player’s first round must be approved by the Committee and must not improperly lower the team average.

7. TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND VENUES

The competition is a 54-hole team and individual points competition conducted from September 17 to 20, 2026.
Every group, whether entered as a team or as an individual, shall play one 18-hole round at each host course and shall have one rest day during the four-day tournament.
All Regular, Seniors, Super Seniors, Ladies, Championship, team, and individual competitions shall be conducted during the same tournament period. There is no separate Seniors week.
The team with the highest cumulative counting points in its division after three rounds shall be declared the division champion.
Individual standings shall be based on the player’s cumulative points over all three tournament rounds.

Seniors, Super Seniors, and Ladies who elect to join or form a team in the Regular Division shall be classified as Regular Division players for the tournament and shall play from the applicable Regular Division tee and use the Stableford point system.

9. INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION AND CLASSIFICATION

Individual awards shall be contested within the player’s registered category and classification. Gross awards are based on gross points. Net awards shall be determined using the Committee-approved handicap application announced before the start of play.

A player must complete all three assigned rounds to qualify for cumulative individual awards, unless the Committee announces otherwise. A disqualified, withdrawn, or incomplete round remains subject to the Rules and may affect eligibility for individual prizes.

10. REGISTRATION, FEES, AND CAPACITY

Registration is limited to the first one hundred fifty (150) accepted teams or seven hundred fifty (750) total players, on a first-paid, first-confirmed basis, unless changed by the Committee.
Registration and payment deadline: To be announced by the Tournament Committee.
Excess entries may be wait-listed and accepted only when space becomes available.
Payment instructions and official banking details shall be issued by Davao Eagle Master, Inc. through authorized tournament channels.
Entry fees are subject to the refund, substitution, and cancellation policies announced by the Committee.

11. PRACTICE ROUNDS

Paid and confirmed participants may be allowed one complimentary practice round at each host course during the official practice period announced by the Committee.
Practice rounds are subject to host-course availability, booking rules, caddie and cart charges, and all applicable club policies.
Once the first tournament round has started, a player may not practice on any tournament course except as permitted by the Rules of Golf or expressly authorized by the Committee.

12. PAIRINGS, COURSE ASSIGNMENTS, AND TEE TIMES

Double-barrel starting may be used, with the first tee time beginning at 6:00 a.m., at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
The Committee shall assign each group’s courses, rest day, pairings, starting holes, and tee times.
Requests for specific courses, playing dates, rest days, pairings, or tee times shall not be entertained.
The Committee may revise any pairing, starting time, course assignment, or starting procedure when required for safety, fairness, pace of play, or tournament operations.
Players must report to the assigned starting area at least thirty (30) minutes before their tee time and be ready to play when called.

13. TIME OF STARTING AND LATE ARRIVAL

A player who is not present and ready to play at the assigned starting time is late. Unless the Committee announces a different procedure, the late player shall receive zero (0) points for each missed hole and may join the assigned group at the next tee to be played, without delaying the group. A player who joins at an unauthorized location or causes undue delay may be disqualified.

14. PACE OF PLAY AND PICK-UP

All groups must maintain their position with the group ahead and comply immediately with instructions from Rules Officials and course marshals.
A group that is out of position may be warned and timed. A player who takes more than forty (40) seconds when it is the player’s turn to play may receive a bad time.
Suggested bad-time penalties: first bad time – warning; second – one-stroke penalty; third – two-stroke penalty; fourth – disqualification.
To promote pace of play, a player who can no longer earn a point on a hole must pick up and record an “X” for that hole.
Players must not unduly delay play by making extended stops at clubhouses, halfway houses, or refreshment areas.

15. SCORECARDS, MARKERS, AND RETURNING SCORES

The Committee shall assign a marker to record each player’s gross hole-by-hole scores. Pick-ups must be marked with an “X”.
The player and marker should verify the score after each hole. Before returning the scorecard, the player must check all hole scores, resolve doubtful points, and ensure that the player and marker have signed the card.
A scorecard is considered returned when it is submitted to the official scoring area, drop box, or electronic scoring system designated by the Committee and the player has left that area.
Official standings are based on the Committee’s verified scores. Live or unofficial leaderboards are subject to correction.
A marker who knowingly records or certifies false information may be disqualified and referred for further disciplinary action.

16. TIES

Team Competition. Ties shall be broken in the following order:

Higher score of the team’s non-counting fifth player in the final round;
Higher total team points in the final 36 holes;
Higher total team points in the final 18 holes;
Higher final-round counting score of the fourth counting player, then the third, second, and first counting players;
Sudden-death playoff if feasible and directed by the Committee; otherwise, drawing of lots.

Individual Gross or Net Competition. Ties shall be broken by the Committee’s countback using the player’s final-round points, then final 9 holes, final 6 holes, final 3 holes, and 18th hole. If still tied, the Committee may use the player’s preceding round, conduct a playoff, or draw lots.

Special Awards. Ties for special awards shall be resolved by the Committee’s announced countback or proximity procedure.

17. AWARDS AND PRIZES

A player must be officially registered, eligible, and in good standing to receive an award or prize.
Hole-in-one and sponsor prizes are subject to sponsor terms, designated holes, witness and verification requirements, and any applicable taxes, fees, or registration costs.
Unless otherwise announced, a player may win only one major individual award, with the higher award taking precedence.
Awards Night will be held on September 20, 2026 at a venue and time to be announced.

18. CADDIES, GOLF CARTS, AND TRANSPORTATION

Only caddies and umbrella assistants accredited or authorized by the host course may be employed.
Players may not act as caddies for other competitors during a tournament round.
Golf-cart use shall be governed by host-course policy and any Committee notice. Players must follow all cart-safety and restricted-area rules.
A player is responsible for the actions of the player’s caddie as provided by the Rules of Golf.

19. EQUIPMENT AND DISTANCE-MEASURING DEVICES

Only conforming golf clubs and golf balls may be used.
Distance-measuring devices may be used only to measure distance, unless prohibited by a Committee notice. Features that measure or recommend elevation-adjusted distance, wind, club selection, or other prohibited playing information must not be used.
The Committee may adopt a one-ball condition, groove condition, or other equipment Local Rule by written notice before the round.

20. MOBILE PHONES, CONDUCT, AND ETIQUETTE

Mobile phones and electronic devices must be on silent mode. Their use must not distract players, delay play, or breach the Rules of Golf.
Players, Team Captains, caddies, and guests must observe proper golf etiquette and show respect to host clubs, sponsors, officials, staff, volunteers, and fellow competitors.
Serious misconduct includes cheating, falsification, abusive or threatening behavior, damage to property or the course, deliberate disregard of safety instructions, intoxicated or disorderly conduct, and conduct that brings the tournament into disrepute.
The Committee may issue warnings, point deductions, removal from a round or venue, individual or team disqualification, forfeiture of prizes, and suspension from future Eaglemasters tournaments.

21. ADVICE AND TEAM ASSISTANCE

Advice may be given only as permitted by the Rules of Golf. A Team Captain, teammate, coach, spectator, or other person must not give advice to a player during the player’s round unless specifically authorized under the Rules or by a Committee Local Rule. The player is responsible for stopping unauthorized advice when aware of it.

22. SUSPENSION, RESUMPTION, AND CANCELLATION OF PLAY

The Committee may immediately suspend play for lightning, dangerous weather, darkness, course conditions, or other safety concerns. Players must stop play and follow evacuation instructions when an immediate suspension is signaled.
When play is resumed, players must return to the designated position and resume only when authorized.
If a round cannot be completed, the Committee may resume it later, cancel it, reduce the competition, or determine results using completed rounds or another equitable method.
The Committee is not responsible for personal travel, accommodation, or other incidental expenses arising from delays, suspension, cancellation, or changes to the schedule.

23. RULES QUESTIONS, PROTESTS, AND APPEALS

A player uncertain about the correct procedure in stroke play may play two balls under Rule 20.1c(3), provided the required announcement is made before playing either ball and the facts are reported to the Committee before returning the scorecard.
Rules questions and scoring concerns must be raised promptly with a Rules Official or the Tournament Committee.
A protest affecting a round or result must be submitted by the player or Team Captain in writing within thirty (30) minutes after the affected score is posted, unless the Committee permits otherwise.
The Committee’s ruling is final. No protest will be considered after the competition has closed, except as allowed under the Rules of Golf.

24. DISQUALIFICATION AND WITHDRAWAL

Grounds for team disqualification may include fielding an ineligible or falsely identified player, falsifying handicap information, entering a player on multiple teams, deliberate score manipulation, failure to pay required fees, refusal to follow Committee instructions, or serious misconduct by team members.

Individual disqualification applies as provided by the Rules of Golf and these Terms of Competition. Unless the Committee decides otherwise, an individual disqualification from one round does not automatically disqualify the player from later rounds; however, the disqualified round scores zero points and the player may become ineligible for cumulative individual awards.

A player or team that withdraws must promptly notify the Tournament Secretariat and must not abandon the course without advising an official, except in an emergency.

25. MEDICAL, SAFETY, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Each participant is responsible for determining personal fitness to compete and for carrying necessary medication and hydration.
Players must comply with host-course and Committee safety instructions, including lightning, heat, evacuation, and emergency procedures.
Participation is voluntary and subject to any waiver, medical declaration, or emergency-contact requirement issued by the Committee.

26. PUBLICITY, DATA, AND TOURNAMENT RECORDS

By participating, players authorize the Tournament Organizer to process registration, identity, handicap, scoring, contact, and prize information for tournament administration, results, verification, safety, and legitimate publicity, subject to applicable data-protection law. Players also consent to reasonable photography, video, and publication of names, teams, scores, and results in connection with the tournament.

27. OFFICIAL NOTICES AND AMENDMENTS

Official notices, Local Rules, schedules, pairings, results, amendments, and announcements may be posted at host courses, released through FilGolf or the official Davao EagleMasters channels, or communicated by the Tournament Secretariat. Each player and Team Captain is responsible for checking official notices. The Committee may amend these Terms of Competition before or during the tournament when necessary.

28. CLOSE OF COMPETITION

The competition is closed when the Tournament Committee has officially announced the final results and the championship trophies have been awarded. After the competition is closed, results may be corrected only as permitted by the Rules of Golf.
