10th Pawikan Cup

GENERAL

The Pawikan Cup is a 36-hole Team Competition using the Modified Stableford scoring system withhandicap. The first round format is Net Four-Ball (Best-Ball/Better Score), and the second round isNet Aggregate (Combined Team Points).

ENTRY FEE

P15,000.00 per team (Inclusive of breakfast, giveaways, raffle entries, snacks, lunch buffet, andawards dinner).

CADDIE FEE

P1,000.00 minimum per round per player.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all bona fide Amateur Club Members, and Dependents of Anvaya Cove Golf & Sports Clubin good standing, and their guests.

PRACTICE

All guests, whether accompanied by a member or not, may play two (2) practice rounds anytimefrom January 5 to January 14, 2026, Monday to Sunday, except on Tuesdays when the golf course isclosed. Practice rounds are available only to registered participants.

CANCELLATION

Cancellations must be made in writing to the Tournament Committee or via e-mail togolfevents@anvayacove.com. Cancellations made on or before 5:00 PM on January 10, 2026, willbe accepted without penalty and will be eligible for a full refund. No entry fees will be refundedafter this date. Refunds will not be allowed once practice rounds have been used.

FORMAT

36-hole Team Competition using the Modified Stableford Scoring System with handicap.

18-Hole Net Four-Ball Modified Stableford Scoring System (best ball/better score). Better net points for the hole count as the team score. Maximum 44 points per team (8 under).
18-hole Net Aggregate Modified Stableford Scoring System. Combined points of partners count as the team score. Maximum 44 points per player (8 under).

NOTE: Sirens will signal the start and end of play. The hard stop for the 6:00 AM tee time is 11:20 AM, and for the 12:00 NN tee time, it is 5:20 PM. Players must immediately pick up their ball and proceed to the clubhouse when play is stopped. Any holes not completed will be scored as “X” or zero points.

HANDICAP

Members:

WHS Index as of January 1, 2026, converted to course handicap.
Maximum allowable handicap for a member is 36.
Members without an established WHS Index shall play with zero handicap.

Guests:

WHS index as of January 1, 2026, converted to course handicap.
The maximum allowable handicap for guests is 18.
Guests without an established WHS Index shall play with zero handicap.
Handicap indices must be submitted on or before 5:00 PM on Sunday, Jan 11, 2026. If a guest fails to provide their handicap index by the deadline, they will be required to play scratch or zero handicap for the competition.

The handicap difference between partners must not exceed eight (8) strokes. If the difference is greater than eight (8), the higher-handicap player’s handicap will be adjusted accordingly.

The Handicap Committee reserves the right to review and adjust handicaps before the tournament and to disqualify any player found in violation of handicap rules.

To speed up play, please pick up on NET DOUBLE BOGEY. (Maximum score per hole including penalties)

GIMME

Any ball coming to rest within the 48-inch gimme circle (24-inch radius) is considered holed on the
next stroke.

DIVISION

The field will be divided into five divisions based on member’s handicap. A maximum difference of 8 index is allowed per team. Should the member‘s handicap be reduced, the lower (revised) handicap will be used for division placement.

Class C – Hcp 19 to 27
Class D – Hcp 28 to 36

TIE-BREAKER

Ties will be broken in favor of the team with:

Better Four-Ball 18-hole points total
Better Four-Ball last 9-hole (hole 10-18) points total
Better Four-Ball last 6-hole (hole 13-18) points total
Better Four-Ball last 3-hole (hole 16-18) points total
Better Four-Ball points count back starting the 18th hole

CHANGE OF PARTNER

A member may change partners not later than 5:00 PM, January 11, 2026, provided that the new partner meets the handicap requirements. Otherwise, the partner plays to a zero handicap.

GROUPINGS & STARTING TIMES

All players shall tee off simultaneously at 6 AM or 12 NN via shotgun start. Players are required to beat their designated starting holes at least 10 minutes prior to the start of play.

Requests for specific pairings will not be entertained. All players must remain in the groupings assigned by the Tournament Committee throughout the round, unless a change is expressly approved by the Committee either before or after it occurs.

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter groupings and starting assignments if such adjustments are deemed necessary for the smooth conduct and overall integrity of the tournament.

LATE TO TEE

A player is late to tee if he/she is not present and ready to play at the starting time and starting point set by the Committee. However, he/she will not be disqualified and will be allowed to join his/her assigned group on the tee of the next hole to be played. His/her score on the hole/s that he/she fails to play will be “X” or zero points.

HOLE-IN-ONE

Ladies, including Juniors teeing off from the red tees, may opt to use the designated Hole-in-One teeing area to qualify for the Hole-in-One prize(s). Those who choose to play from the regular redtees instead of the designated Hole-in-One teeing area will forfeit their eligibility for the Hole-in-One prize(s).

Multiple hole-in-one winners on the same hole, regardless of day played, will share the prize (s).

SPECIAL FUN HOLES

The following fun hole contests will be conducted daily from Day 1 to Day 4 of the tournament. Prizes will be awarded each day to the respective winners as indicated below:

Longest Drive – Hole 2
One (1) winner per teeing category:

Men’s Tee
Silver Tee
White Tee
Red Tee

Most Accurate Drive – Hole 5
Only one (1) winner will be recognized per day, regardless of the player’s teeing area.

Nearest to the Pin – Hole 13
Only one (1) winner per hole per day, regardless of the player’s teeing area.

Note: All players are to play from their designated teeing areas based on division or classification.
Distinctions in teeing areas are acknowledged in the contest mechanics to ensure fairness andinclusivity.

RULES

All play shall be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by The R&A and the USGA, theClub’s established Local Rules, and the applicable tournament rules of Anvaya Cove Golf & Sports Club.

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures DISTANCE ONLY. If during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature,etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification for the stipulated round, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.

IN CASE OF DOUBT, PLAY A SECOND BALL (Rule 3)

If during play, a player is doubtful of his/her right procedure, he/she may – without penalty- play a second ball. After the doubtful situation has risen and before taking further action, the competitor must announce to his/her marker or a fellow competitor that he/she intends to play two balls and which ball she/he wishes to count if the rules permit. The competitor shall report the facts to the Committee before returning his/her scorecard.

BOUNDARIES

Out of Bounds – White stakes Lateral Penalty Area – Red stakes or lines

Penalty Area – Yellow stakes or lines

Lateral Penalty Area – Red stakes or lines

Ground Under Repair – Blue stakes or white lines

DISQUALIFICATION / SUSPENSION

Disrespect to the sponsors, tournament officials and staff.
Unbecoming conduct and gross violation of the Rules of Golf and serious breach of golf etiquette by any member/s during the tournament.
Violation of the House Rules.

FORCE MAJEURE

The Tournament Director reserves the right to halt play in case of unplayable conditions or inclement weather.

COMMITTEE

The Rules Committee has the final decision on all questions on the Rules of Golf including course of action to be taken due to force majeure. The Tournament Committee has the final decision on all matters and reserves the right to change the Tournament Rules and prizes prior to the start of the tournament.

RULES DECISION

Questions regarding the Rules of Golf shall be referred only to the Rules Official. Decisions of the Rules Official affecting play shall be final.

CLOSE OF COMPETITION

The competition shall be deemed closed when the Championship Trophy has been awarded tothe winner.

LOCAL RULES

When a penalty area or out of bounds is defined by a painted line along the outside edge of the cart, a ball is NOT considered to be in the penalty area or out of bounds if ANY PART of the ball is physically touching the cart path. In this situation, the ball is considered to lie in the general area, and relief under Rule 16.1 (e.g., from immovable obstructions such as the path) remains available.

Exception – Canals: On holes where a canal lies adjacent to the cart path and is within the painted boundary line (i.e., inside the penalty area or out of bounds), a ball that comes to rest within the canal itself is considered to be in the penalty area or out of bounds, even if part of the ball is touching the cart path.

On Holes 5, 7, 14 & 17, if a player’s ball from the teeing area comes to rest in the penalty area, the player may proceed under Rule 17.1 or take relief using the designated Drop Zone as an ADDITIONAL option.
Water pump house, irrigation valve boxes, sprinkler heads, drainage gratings, and cart path are immovable obstructions.
Ground Under Repair is defined by a blue stake and a white painted line. A ball is considered in Ground Under Repair when any part of it touches the painted line, and free relief is available under Rule 16.1b.

REMINDERS

The player is responsible for scoring the GROSS SCORE per hole of their competitor. Cross scoring method must be strictly implemented.
Any questions on the score with the marker and/or committee must be settled before signing the scorecard. Any alteration in scores on the scorecard must be cleared and clarified with your scorer before the card is submitted. Scores not legibly written will be interpreted by the committee at its sole discretion.
Scorecards must have 2 signatures (marker’s and player’s) and dropped at the drop box. Player is disqualified if it is not signed by marker and player.
It is the player’s responsibility to ensure their correct handicap is recorded on the scorecard.
Galleries are not allowed.
Caddies must be paid immediately by the player after the round.
