33rd Durian Tee Invitational

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

General

The 33rd Durian Tee Invitational is a Member-Guest competition hosted by the members of the Apo Golf & Country Club, Inc. & played from November 12-15, 2025

GOVERNING RULES

The 2023 Rules of Golf of the R&A and the USGA. The Local Rules of the Apo Golf and Country Club, the Tournament rules as specified in this COC and any official announcement/s made either posted in the bulletin board or broadcast thru SMS.

ELIGIBILITY

The Tournament is limited to amateur golfers with a WHS Index or Club Certified Handicap. Members may invite ONE (1) guest to be their partner.

FORMAT & STIPULATED ROUNDS

Team & individual play using the Molave Point System with handicaps:

Each competitor shall play a total of 36 holes & will play only 18 holes per day.

HANDICAPS

The Handicap Index reference date to be used will be for Nov. 01, 2025:

  1. Guests must have a WHS index for November 1, 2025;
  2. Lowest WHS index for players with multiple memberships;
  3. For Guests without a WHS Index, a Club Certified Handicap must be submitted to the Tournament Committee. Deadline is on Nov. 1, 2025.
  4. Guests with NO WHS or Certified Handicaps shall be given a ZERO (0);
  5. A player who declares a wrong handicap shall be disqualified;
  6. Maximum handicap for Men will be 27 and 32 for the Ladies.

SCORING SYSTEM

The Tournament will use the Molave Scoring System as follows:

CORING GUIDELINES

Marker – Each team shall be assigned as a marker to record the scores of the other team. The marker shall record the GROSS SCORES only of the players & shall mark pick-ups with an “X”. Caddies are not allowed to record scores into the scorecard.

Marker’s Responsibility – The Committee may disqualify the marker if it is shown that it has deliberately violated the above rule on scoring and/or intentionally performed actions so another player may be penalized or disqualified.

Submission – The scorecard must be returned to the committee within 10 minutes after completing the round, otherwise it will be considered as ‘no score’. A scorecard is deemed to have been submitted when it is dropped into the drop box at the designated scoring area.

Avoid Penalties by observing and doing the following:

  1. Retrieve your scorecard from your maker immediately after your round. Check your scores hole by hole for accuracy.
  2. Check your scorecard & ensure that only gross scores are legibly recorded. Scores not legibly written shall be interpreted & recorded by the committee at its own discretion. Clarify with the Scoring Committee any illegible scores before submitting it.
  3. Make sure the markers have signed the scorecard. Settle any doubtful points with the marker or committee before signing and submitting.

Mandatory Pick-up must be observed when any player who no longer has a chance to score a point on a hole MUST pick-up his/her ball and stop play of the hole. A player that continues to play the hole shall be penalized with a 2-point deduction on the team’s score for each violation.

TEAM & INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION

  1. Team Competition – a team shall be composed of two (2) players; a member or dependent of AGCC and his/her invited guest. The total scores for Day 1 & Day 2 of the team shall be used to determine the winners.
    1. Seniors – both team members must be born on or before 1970;
    2. Ladies – both team members must be female;
    3. Seniors and Ladies can win the Over-all Net Team Champion
    4. Any team can only win ONE (1) team award;
    5. It is the SOLE responsibility of the team to indicate in their entry form their preferred category of play. Failure will automatically classify them in their class / division;
    6. Dependents of AGCC members that are 18 years old and above shall be treated as members and are allowed to invite guests;

  3. Individual Competition – Players shall be classified according to their handicaps and the 36-hole aggregate score of the competition shall be used to determine the winners.
  4. Divisions of Play

    Men’s Division: A | B | C00 – 09 |10 -18 | 19-27
    Senior’s Division: 1 | 255 – 59 | 60 y.o. & above
    Ladies Division: A | B00 – 17 | 18 – 36
  5. Individual Awards

Winners in the Team Competition are disqualified from winning the individual awards except for the Individual Over-All Gross & Net titles.

TIE-BREAKS

Ties will be broken using the following process:

  1. Total score for D2, if tied;
  2. Total score for D1, if tied;
  3. Total Back 9 score of D2, if tied; Total Front 9 score of D2, if tied;
  4. Total Back 9 score of D1, if tied; Total Front 9 score of D1, if tied;
  5. Hole by Hole countback for D2, if tied;
  6. Hole by Hole countback for Day 1; if tied;
  7. Team or Player with the LOWER HANDICAP, if still tied, TOSS COIN

HOLE-IN-ONE

All tournament participants shall tee-off from the same tee-mound on all Par 3’s. Any participant who makes a natural hole-in-one on any Par 3 shall be entitled to the prize designated for that hole.

In the event of multiple natural aces on the same hole, the prize shall be divided equally amongst the winners.

FLIGHT SCHEDULES

There shall be FOUR (4) sets of schedules that the players can choose from on a first come, first served basis.

Schedule & time requests for fully paid entries can be made only until Oct. 15, 2025 after which, the Committee shall assign at its own discretion the schedules for registered players.

  1. Early Tee Time is between 6:00 am to 8:30
  2. Late Tee Time is between 10:00 am to 12:00 nn.
  3. Double-Barrel Tee System using Tees Number 1 & 10.
  4. Members & their Guests must play together.
  5. A player who is LATE TO TEE is not disqualified. He will score ZERO Points on all holes that he/she failed to play & will be allowed to join his/her assigned group on the tee of the next hole to be played.

TOURNAMENT FEE

PhP 15,000.00 per team inclusive of Tournament Giveaways, an invitation to the Awarding Ceremonies, a Complimentary Practice Round for tournament guests and a chance to win Hole-in-One and Raffle Prizes!

The tournament will be limited to 200 teams only on a first come, first served basis. Deadline for payment will be on October 15, 2025. Only paid entries will be included in the tournament pairings.

Complimentary Practice Round can be availed of once the entry fee has been paid in full. You may call the Golf Services Department of the Apo Golf & Country Club to schedule your practice rounds.

CAVEAT

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to modify, add or remove a division, any awards, reclassify teams, adjust handicaps as necessary and make alterations to pairings, flight schedules and tee times for the better interest of the tournament.

1. Out of Bounds

Beyond any fence forming the perimeter boundary of the course, except when defined by white stakes and/or dots;

 

2. Penalty Areas

Drop Zone on Holes 11 & 18 As an additional relief option for the yellow penalty area on holes 11 & 18, adding one penalty stroke, a player may drop a ball the drop zone.

 

3. Abnormal Course Conditions (Including Immovable Obstructions)

a. All areas marked with blue stakes or enclosed with white lines

b. Where areas of damaged ground are right next to or “attached” to artificially surfaced road or path are treated as a single abnormal course condition when taking relief under Rule16.1c. Cracks in the ground and/or hardpan/bare areas in the general area are considered as Ground Under Repair. Relief is not allowed if interference is with the players stance only.

d. The edging grooves (soil or sand must be visible) around the aprons or fringes of putting greens are ground under repair, if the players ball lies in or touches a groove or the groove interferes with the area of the intended swing the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b and 16.1d. Interference does not exist if the edging groove interferes with the players stance only.

 

4. Drop Zone on Holes 10, 11, 13 & 18 As an additional relief option for the immovable obstruction, a player may drop a ball in the nearest drop zone provided.

a. Hole 10 – Back of green

b. Hole 11 – Left of green

c. Hole 13 – Nursery back of green

d. Hole 18 – Practice green & adjacent to cart path

 

5. Temporary Immovable Obstruction All advertising boards are temporary immovable obstructions. Players may claim line of site relief.

 

6. Slow Play

a. Players must keep up with the pace of play at all times.

b. A flight that is behind the pace of play will be given a verbal warning;

c. If the flight is in breach of the rule for the second time, they will be put on the clock (maximum of 15 mins to finish a hole) and each player in the flight will be penalized with a 1-point deduction.

d. if the group still falls behind the pace of play, EACH PLAYER will be penalized with an additional 2-point penalty deduction.

e. A fourth offense will result to a penalty of Disqualification for the entire flight.
