The Fore by Four is back and we prepared our 4 golf courses for you to have enjoy them. Our guests to stay at the nearby partner hotels like the Microtel or Bay leaf, where we have arranged special rates for you to stay and relax.

We thank all the committee members and sponsors for the unconditional support that they have given ERGCC for this annual event. We also thank our members who plays with us and gives their precious inputs to help us improve our services.

WELCOME MESSAGE

Welcome to the 2024 Eagle Ridge Fore by Four Invitational Tournament!

It is again the time of the year when we stage the most sought-after and very unique Member-Guest Invitational Tournament in the country, wherein all the participants play 72 holes of tournament golf in the four championship golf courses of our Club.

The Fore by Four Committee, with the support of the Club’s Board of Directors, Management, and staff, is ensuring you will have an enjoyable golfing experience during this event.  Aside from preparing the courses to be in top condition, three cars and other major prizes will be raffled off during the awarding ceremonies.

This unique tournament has become a tradition to showcase what the country’s biggest golf club has to offer. This is also our way of showing gratitude to our members for all the support they have given to their Club.

Please accept my humble appreciation to all of you for your participation, continuous patronage, support, and cooperation.  Please enjoy the game with your friends, business partners, and the whole Eagle Ridge family.  I wish everyone the best of luck.

THE FORE BY FOUR INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Is an invitational tournament where a bonafide Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club member (or his spouse or dependent) invites a non-member to form a team.

This event is envisioned to be an annual event aimed at generating camaraderie among Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club members and their guests. It is also an expression of appreciation from Eagle Ridge Board of Directors and Officers to all its members for the cooperation and support they have given the year round. Lastly, this is an opportunity for our members to showcase their Club to their friends and guests.

Rules of Play

The tournament shall be played according to the Rules of Golf as provided by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the Local Rules of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club.

Eligibility

Eagle Ridge members (and their spouses and dependents) who are in good standing can invite guests to form a 2-man team. Sponsors are also eligible to participate. Players who are both non-members can form a team. Complimentary members can qualify as guest partners of members.

November 9, 10, 15 and 16

PILLIGAN

Mandatory “piligan” per day, one (1) in front 9 (holes 1-9) and one (1) in back 9 (holes 10-18). The “piligan” can be used anywhere except on the putting green.

TEAM COMPOSITION

  1. Each team shall be composed of 1 Member and 1 Guest. Guest-Guest teams will also be accepted. Sponsors can be composed of both members, member-non-member, or both non-members.
  2. Teams must be composed of 2 Male or 2 Female players. Teams composed of 2 females will compete in the Ladies division. No mixed teams will be allowed in the Member-Guest division. The Sponsors division and Guest-Guest division can be composed of mixed Male and Female players.

HANDICAP RULES

  1. Member’s average Handicap Index for the last three months (August 1 – October 16, 2024) will be used as the team handicap for the tournament classification.
  2. The player’s or team’s handicap during the tournament will be based on the last three months’ Handicap Index, rounded down.

  3. Guests must submit their August 1 – October 16, 2024 Handicap Index in the club/s of which they are a member. Guest who failed to submit a Handicap Certification on or before October 30, 2024 will be given a “zero” handicap.
  4. The accepted Handicap Certifications are WHS, USGA, and R&A certified golf clubs.
  5. Average of the last 3 months will be used as the handicap index of the guest.
  6. The committee reserves the right to:
    1. Change the handicaps of the participants anytime during the tournament.
    2. Check the handicaps of the participants.
    3. Disqualify a team that has been found to have violated the eligibility or the handicap rules.

Teams will be assigned to the following classes based on member’s average Handicap Index for the last three months (August 1 – October 16, 2024) will be used as the team handicap for the tournament classification, rounded down.

FORMAT

  1. TOURNAMENT – The tournament shall be a 72-hole, stroke play, team competition. Each team shall play the four courses assigned to their Division.
  2. SCORING – The following MODIFIED STABLEFORD Scoring System will be used to determine the score of the player.

    The Isao Aoki course is for the SCRAMBLE format. Through the green, the chosen ball may be lifted, cleaned, and placed within one (1) club length; the second ball shall be placed within one (1) club length not nearer the hole and with the same condition as the chosen ball. On the putting green, players may play their shot within one putter head length, not closer to the hole, from the selected ball. A maximum of 46 points or 10 under per team in shall apply in Scramble format. The 30% of the average of the team’s handicap will be used.

    The Andy Dye course is for the BEST BALL format, an 18-hole net four-ball stroke play competition. The better net score for the hole counts as the team’s score (RULE 31). A maximum of 46 points or 10 under shall apply in the BEST BALL format.

    The Nick Faldo and the Greg Norman courses are for the AGGREGATE format. A maximum of 44 points per player per day shall apply in the Aggregate format.

    The Guest-Guest Division and Sponsors Division shall play the System 36 format.

    Each player starts with a handicap of 36. For every gross score of par or lower that the player makes, 2 strokes are removed from his initial handicap of 36. For a bogey, 1 stroke is removed and for every double bogey or higher, no strokes are removed from his initial handicap.

  3. INDIVIDUAL SCORE – The player’s score for the hole shall be the points he earned with his/her handicap index applied, except for the Scramble format.
  4. TEAM SCORE – The Team Score shall be according to the format of the game per course.
  5. CHAMPION – The team that scored the Highest Stableford team points in their class after 72 holes of play shall be declared champion. For the Guest-Guest Division and the Sponsors Division, the team that scores the lowest NET SCORE within the division be declared the champion.

Pairings and Golf course assignments per class shall be announced 5 days before the tournament.

NOTE: The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make changes in course assignments to ensure that golf course usage is optimized during the tournament.

PICK-UP

There is a mandatory pick-up if a player is already playing for a net double bogey. If a player proceeds to play after the net double bogey is achieved the team shall be penalized with a two (2) point deduction on their final team score for the day. This does not apply to the Guest-Guest Division and Sponsors Division and they should record the actual number of strokes until they hole out. For Guest-Guest and Sponsor division, double par pick up.

SCORING

Each team shall serve as the “marker” for the other team within the same flight. The marker shall be responsible for recording the gross scores of the players. Both markers shall sign the scorecards.

Players are reminded to:

            Put their gross scores on the scorecards as long as it is not worse than a net double bogey (this does not apply to the Guest-Guest Division and Sponsor Division, and they should record the actual number of strokes until they hole out). The Committee shall take care of computing your net scores.

    1. Check their respective scorecards.
    2. Settle any doubtful points with the marker or the rules committee before submitting the scorecard.
    3. Submit the scorecard personally within 15 minutes after they finish the round.

LATE TO TEE

If a player is late, the game shall start without him/her. The player will not be disqualified and he/she shall be given zero (0) points on the holes that he/she missed. The player shall join his/her flight on the tee of the next hole to be played.

SLOW PLAY

If an open hole exists in front of a flight, they may be warned by a marshal/official. They are then mandated to catch up with the fight ahead. If the flight fails to catch up after the warning, they will be asked to pick up their balls and forgo playing the hole and proceed to the next tee. Zero “0” points shall be given to the forgone hole or holes. For Guest-Guest and Sponsor division, double par.

TIE BREAK

Ties will be broken by:

  1. Lower combined team handicap
  2. The team’s net score in the Faldo course, then by
  3. The member’s net score in the Faldo course; then by
  4. The guest’s net score in Faldo Course, then by
  5. USGA count back system (Hole 10 to 18, then 13 to 18 etc.) comparing the gross scores of the final day scorecards of the MEMBERS who are tied
  6. Toss coin

PRACTICE ROUNDS

A guest will be given four (4) free practice rounds on any weekday OR two (2) practice rounds on a weekend beginning August 16 – November 14, 2024.

HOLE IN ONE

There will be a prize for hole-in-one in designated par 3s during the tournament. In the event that there is more than one person that makes a hole-in-one in the same hole, the winners shall share the prize amongst themselves. Taxes (i.e. VAT) and other fees required shall be on the account of the winner/s.

REGISTRATION FEE

  1. Registration fee is Php 18,000.00 per team. The fee will include practice rounds for the guests, giveaways, food, and a chance to win raffle prizes. The deadline for registration or cancellation is on October 31, 2024. A team shall only be considered registered after they have fully paid the entry fee.
  2. The committee will refund 100% of the registration fee if the cancellation is made on or before the deadline.
    50% if the cancellation is made after the deadline.
    No refund will be given after the tournament has started or if the players have used their practice rounds.

RAFFLE PRIZES

The winners of the major and minor raffles will be notified by telephone through the winning participant’s registered number. All prizes for major and minor raffles must be claimed by the corresponding winner within sixty (60) days from the date of the raffle, regardless of the date of notification or absence of effective notification, through no fault of the Club. Failure to claim the prizes within the period provided will result in a waiver thereof by the winning participant and such unclaimed prizes shall then become the exclusive property of the Club.

 

Cars and other prizes will be raffled during the awarding ceremonies. Taxes (i.e. VAT) and other fees (i.e. registration, insurance, etc.) required from the winners/s of the raffle shall be on the account of the winner/s. Presence is required in order to win a raffle prize, except for the 3rd car wherein raffle tickets will be sold to any participants, their family members, or their friends.  For the 3rd car, a maximum of 500 tickets will be sold.  A car with a price worth Php 1,000,000.00 will be raffled. If the Club fails to sell the 500 tickets, the Club has the option not to raffle the 3rd car and return the money to the buyers of the raffle tickets.

AWARDING CEREMONIES

All participants are eligible to attend the Awarding Ceremonies. Food and drinks will be served.

DRESS CODE

Attire during the Awarding Ceremonies is smart casual. Shorts and sandals are not acceptable attire. Those who are wearing shorts, slippers and/or sleeveless shirts will not be allowed to enter the Awarding Ceremonies venue.

CLOSE OF COMPETITION

The competition shall be deemed closed after the trophies have been awarded to the winners.

TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

Questions and disputes on the Rules and the conduct of the tournament should be referred to the Committee whose decision on the matter shall be final. The committee reserves the right to change the tournament rules, pairings and prizes as it deems fit and fair.

Awarding ceremonies shall start at approximately 4:00 PM on 16 November 2024.
