RULES OF PLAY – AMATEUR DIVISION

The tournament is exclusively for amateur golfers and will be conducted in accordance with the rules established by the R&A Rules Limited, the USGA, and the local rules of Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club.

TOURNAMENT DATE: June 13-14, 2025 – Shotgun 10:00am
ENTRY FEE: P40,000 per Team (4 to play; 3 to count)

MANNER OF COMPETITION

  1. Team Composition
    1. Each team must consist of 4 players open to all amateur golfers only. 18 years old and above.
  2. Bracketing
    1. Players will compete in 3 Division with 4 classifications for REGULAR DIVISION and 3 classifications for SENIOR and LADIES DIVISION.
      1. Championship Class
      2. Regular Division: Class A,B & C
        Note: CHAMPIONSHIP CLASS and Regular Divisions team composition can be mix of men & ladies and shall tee off on the BLUE TEES.
      3. Senior Division (players must be 60yrs and above in a team): Class A,B & C.
      4. Ladies Division (must be all female golfers in a team): Class A,B & C
  3. Tee
    Championship & Regular Division – BLUE TEE
    Senior Division – WHITE TEE
    Ladies Division – RED TEE
  4. Competition Format
    1. The tournament will follow an Aggregate Team Score format over (2)two days, utilizing the Modified Stableford Scoring System.
  5. Practice Rounds
    1. Practice rounds are available exclusively to registered and paid team participants.
    2. Practice Round Schedule: May 10, 2025 to June 10, 2025.
    3. Practice rounds for both courses must be scheduled in advance at the time of registration.
        1. Only registered and paid teams are eligible for practice rounds.

ENTRIES

  1. Team Name
    1. All participating teams must have a designated Team Name.
  2. Confirmation of Participation
    1. Eligible teams must confirm their participation by submitting a completed entry form and the corresponding entry fees to the Tournament Committee on or before May 30, 2025.

  3. Team Limit
    1. A maximum of 55 PAID teams will be accepted for the tournament.
  4. Entry Fee
    1. The entry fee per team is P40,000.00, which includes:
        1. Two (2) practice round
        2. Welcome Cocktails
        3. Grand Awarding Ceremonies
        4. Tournament Raffle
        5. Giveaways worth P5,000
        6. Free breakfast & Lunch (tournament proper)
  5. Team Captain Responsibilities
    1. Each team must designate a Team Captain who will:
        1. Ensure that all team members are familiar with the rules of golf, the Tournament Conditions of Play, and other applicable competition rules.
        2. Verify, authenticate, and submit copies of the handicap indexes for all team members.

HANDICAP

  1. Submission of Handicap Indexes
    1. Handicap indexes must be submitted along with the team’s application.
  2. All participants are required to have a valid and verifiable handicap from the World Handicap System (WHS) or an equivalent recognized handicap body within their respective clubs.
  3. Lowest Handicap Index
    1. Teams must submit each player’s lowest handicap index for the months of December (2024), January and February.
  4. Determination of Team Handicap
    1. The team’s handicap will be determined using the average of the three lowest handicap indexes submitted by its players. This calculation is for classification purposes only.

NOTE:

If a player possesses more than one (1) handicap index, the lowest index must be used. It is the Team Captain’s responsibility to ensure the submission of the correct and lowest handicap indexes for all players.

        1. Failure to submit a valid handicap index may result in disqualification.

  1. Team Classification
    Tournament Committee will categorize the competition into 4 distinct categories for REGULARS and 3 categories for SENIORS & LADIES determined by the team handicap. This classification ensures fair and competitive play by grouping teams of similar skill levels, allowing for balanced competition and an enjoyable tournament experience for all participants.
  2. Penalty for False Handicap Submission
    1. Any team or individual found to have submitted false handicap indexes will be disqualified in accordance with Rule 3.3b of the Rules of Golf.
    2. Such individuals or teams may also face a ban from future participation in the Pradera OPEN invitational.
    3. Protests regarding handicaps must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Committee, along with supporting evidence. The Committee reserves the right to thoroughly investigate any handicap submissions.
  3. Classification Rights
    1. The Tournament Committee retains the right to reclassify any team or teams if it deems the adjustment necessary for the overall fairness and integrity of the tournament.

SCORECARD / SCORING SYSTЕМ

  1. Scorecard Submission
    1. All players must submit their scorecards, complete with the signatures of both the player and the marker, to the designated Scoring Table at the Club.
    2. Point System:
        1. Double Eagle/Albatross: 6 points
        2. Eagle: 5 points
        3. Birdie: 4 points
        4. Par: 3 points
        5. Bogey: 2 points
        6. Double Bogey: 1 point
        7. Triple Bogey: Pick up (no points awarded)
    3. Note: Players are reminded to record their strokes on the course but not on the official scorecard.
  2. Team Scoring Requirement
    1. Each team must have a minimum of three (3) players for their score to be valid and counted toward the competition.
  3. Tie-Breaking Procedure
    1. In the event of a tie, the following criteria will be applied in order:
      1. Final Round Score of the Fourth Player
        The points scored by the team’s fourth player (whose score did not initially count) will be considered.
      2. Best Team Score from the Last 18 Holes
        The team’s Day 2 score will be compared.
      3. Most Number of Scoring Achievements
        Teams will be compared based on the total number of eagles, followed by birdies, pars, and then bogeys.

TEAM & INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

  1. Team Awards
    1. Trophies will be awarded to the Winning Team Champions, 1st Runner-Up, and 2nd Runner-Up from each flight category, ranging from CLASS A to CLASS D.
  2. Individual Awards
    1. Players who achieve the highest points in their respective divisions will be recognized as the “Best Player” in their division and will receive a trophy.

TEE TIMES AND REQUEST FOR TEE TIME PAIRINGS

  1. Pairings and Starting Times
    1. Pairings and starting times will be released and posted by the Tournament Committee.
    2. Pairing sheets will be made available at the committee’s designated area.
    3. eam Captains must submit the names of their team players 7 days before their designated tee time.
    4. Substitution of players should be submitted during the team captains meeting.
  2. Tee Time Assignments
    1. The Tournament Committee will not entertain requests for specific tee times or playing dates.
    2. All players must be prepared to play on the assigned tournament dates and tee times as determined by the Tournament Committee.

RULES DECISION

  1. Rules Inquiries
    1. Any questions regarding the Rules of Golf must be referred exclusively to the Rules Committee.
  2. Protests
    1. Protests must be submitted in writing, signed by the Team Captain, and submitted no later than 6:00 PM on the day of the stipulated round.
  3. Finality of Decisions
    1. All decisions made by the Rules Committee are final and binding.

TOURNAMENT LOCAL RULES

  1. Pace of Play Guidelines
    1. All players must maintain the proper pace of play at all times.
    2. If a group falls behind, leaving an open hole ahead, they will receive a warning from a course marshal or rules official and will be instructed to speed up and close the gap with the group ahead.
  2. Timing of Play
    1. If, in the opinion of the marshal or rules official, a group does not make a conscious effort to regain pace within the next few holes, all players in the group will be timed.
    2. The rules official conducting the timing will determine when it is a player’s turn to play and whether they can do so without interference or distraction.
  3. Bad Time Penalties
    1. Any player taking more than 40 seconds to play their shot, from the time it is
      their turn, will incur a BAD TIME. Penalties are as follows:
        1. 1st Bad Time: Warning
        2. 2nd Bad Time: One (1) point deduction from the total team score
        3. 3rd Bad Time: Two (2) point deduction from the total team score
        4. 4th Bad Time: Disqualification from the stipulated round. The player will be asked to discontinue play.
    2. Timing will continue until the group regains its proper position on the course.
    3. Note: A player’s Bad Time will carry over for the remainder of the round if the group falls out of position again.

MANDATORY PICK-UP AFTER BOGEY

  1. Mandatory Pick-Up
    1. To maintain the pace of play, any player who fails to score a double bogey must stop play on that hole.
    2. The player must pick up their ball and not attempt astroke for a triple-bogey.
    3. Such instances must be marked on the scorecard with an “X” to indicate a pick-up.
    4. Failure to comply will result in an automatic two (2) point deduction from the team’s total score for the stipulated round.
  2. Wrong Score for Hole
    1. Players are responsible for the accuracy of the score recorded for each hole on their scorecard.
        1. If a player submits a score lower than the actual score for a hole, they will be disqualified for the stipulated round.
        2. If a player submits a score higher than the actual score for a hole, the higher score will stand as submitted.
  3. Scorecard Verification
    1. All players are highly encouraged to check their scorecards before signing and submitting them or placing them in the designated Score Box.
    2. If issues arise during play, players should consult with the Committee before submitting their scorecard.
    3. Both the player and marker may be disqualified for submitting an incorrect scorecard.

DISQUALIFICATION / SUSPENSION

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to disqualify or suspend any team or individual from participating in the Pradera Verde Open Invitational. Grounds for disqualification or suspension include but are not limited to:

  1. Disrespectful Behaviour
    1. Disrespect directed toward sponsors, tournament officials, or staff.
  2. Misconduct and Breach of Rules
    1. Unbecoming conduct, gross violations of the Rules of Golf, or serious breaches of golf etiquette by any team member during the tournament.
  3. House Rule Violations
    1. Violation of the house rules of the host clubs.
  4. Misrepresentation
    1. Intentional or unintentional misrepresentation, including playing under a false identity.

CLOSE OF COMPETITION

  1. The tournament will be deemed officially closed following the awarding of trophies and prizes for each division.

NOTE: The Tournament Committee reserves the right to revise, adjust, or forego certain rules or conditions if it determines that such actions are in the best interests of the tournament.
